Trip to North Carolina!

At the beginning of October we headed to North Carolina for John's friend's wedding and to see some family. It was a GREAT trip, very busy! We got to see Katie's aunt, uncle, cousins, best friend and John's long time best friends. North Carolina is such a beautiful place and we got to see some gorgeous sites while we were there. Below are a some pictures from the trip (we tried to not put too many, but it was hard).

The next morning we got up early, left Gregg & Kim's and drove to Wilmington (3 hrs away) where John met up with Justin (the groom) and some friends for a round of golf!

After golf, the girls went to dinner, the guys went to dinner and then we met up to hang out in Downtown Wilmington.The Three Amigos! John, Justin and Shaun (friends since they were kids)

The next day was the rehearsal, so we headed to the Orton Plantation where the wedding would be taking place. This is the chapel they got married in . . . it's from the movie "A Walk to Remember". It was SO beautiful!Inside the chapel.After the rehearsal we got to walk around and see the rest of the plantation. There were gardens, ponds, flower beds etc. everywhere.Pond and yes it has ALLIGATORS in it!!!Us by the pretty pond . . . right before we saw . . .

There are even signs that say, "Do not exit car", so we didn't, we just stopped and rolled the window down just enough to fit the camera out it and quickly snapped this pic and then moved on.As we moved on, this guy was waiting for us! Next we were off to see Katie's best friend Heidi in Columbia, South Carolina.Heidi took us to the capitol building in Downtown Columbia . . . we look so tiny!The three of us.Best Friends! We spent the afternoon/evening with Heidi and then got up the next morning to head back to Charlotte for some more visiting with family.
