The Details . . .

Well we're home, settling in and enjoying getting to know each other! We thought we'd give a rundown of the events of Molly's arrival and some pics to go along with it.

Katie's water broke at 1:30 a.m. on 2/14. We arrived at labor and delivery around 2:15 a.m. Throughout the next 24 hours we encountered many different things: Katie's labor wasn't progressing, so they started her on Pitocen (contraction enhancing drug) to help her along; she labored with that for quite awhile, but nothing was really happening and she wasn't able to have the epidural until she was further dilated, so they gave her morphine to help with the increasing pain; the morphine didn't do too much for the pain but made Katie pretty sleepy; in the evening, they checked again and Katie was only dilated to 2cm, but they let her have the epidural because the pain was bad; the epidural worked for about 3-4 hours and then it began to not work; they gave her 4 booster shots of epidural medicine and still nothing, so she struggled through the next couple hours; FINALLY at 1:05 a.m on 2/15 she was able to begin pushing! Molly arrived at 2:16 a.m. on 2/15! 9 lbs 3 oz 22 1/2 in!

She is healthy, happy, eats well and LOVES to sleep. We arrived home around 1:30 p.m. on 2/16. She had to be woken up last night to be fed!!! She would've just kept sleeping - we are VERY grateful for that!

The next house project . . . THE GARAGE!

Well, John has been itching to get his garage organized so we can actually find tools and stuff, but we've been a little busy. Well we finally started the project last weekend because John got a free TV from his work because it was broken - but the amazing John fixed it!! So now he has a HUGE plasma in his garage! It's only the beginning of "The Man Cave"!

He painted the corner walls and is measuring where to put his new TV!
The finished product . . . well for now :) Stay tuned!

Still waiting for the Baby, but the room is READY!

Well, she's not here yet, but we're all ready for her! Katie went to the doctor today and it looks like she'll probably go past the official due date of February 9th. If nothings happened by the 9th, then they will schedule an induction for sometime later that week! So in the mean time we've finished the baby's room and thought we'd put up some pictures to show! Our friend Wes helped Johnny unload the new dresser/changer for the babies room! It was beautiful . . . and tall! Here's the new dresser with a mirror that Katie has had since she was 8, that we painted to match the rest of the furniture!

This is an old frame that we had, so Katie painted it and used some of the leftover curtain material to make this "Frame of Special People". Katie got this idea from her cousin. It has the names and pictures of the baby's grandparents and aunts and uncles, so she can see what they look like.
