New Baby Picture!

Katie had a doctor's appointment today to make sure everything was going well. They did an ultrasound and what a change from the first picture. You could see the baby VERY well and it was moving around. The doctor even gave it a little poke and the baby started doing 360's! It was AMAZING! So, here's the new picture of Baby Pidge! It definitely made it feel more real for both of us.
For those who can't see it - the baby is facing forward and you can see the face, body, little arms (one of them is waving "hi") and the little feet at the bottom. What a miracle!

The Crazy Guest Room . . . is BEAUTIFUL now!

John finally took the challenge on of the dreaded "Florescent Yellow & Purple" room! Needless to say it needed a coat of primer and then paint.

Oh the fun!
Yes, even the closet was painted to match the room. Wasn't that nice of them :)It looked 100 times better just with the primer on.Before . . .
After! We think this might be our favorite transformation yet! Now it's a calm, relaxing room instead of a blinding mess.

Before . . . very florescent.

After!

While John painted the guest room, Katie's mom (who had a broken foot) graciously offered to do the "hall" (which we had been dreading to do too). She gimped her way around and did a great job!The hall with all the "cutting in" done. The finished product! It's hard to tell in pics, but it's so much brighter!

Kichen Painting!

The Kitchen! Our neighbor, Bryan, graciously offered to help paint the kitchen one night (since Katie can't paint now). It still needs some final touches, but it looks like a totally different place!

Here they are starting the process - Butt to Butt!
Johnny, ready for the painting to be done and it almost is! Almost the final product. We are putting moulding where the white and rust color meet.
The "breakfast" area! Before . . .
After! What a difference :) We like! Last job in the kitchen is a new floor!

New Addition For Our Home . . .

A BABY PIDGE!!!! WOW!
Yes, it's true (as you can see below) we're having our first child. With lots of excitement and nervousness we will welcome this gift from God into our lives on February 9th, 2009!

Inside the "blue" box is "Baby Pidge" at 7 1/2 weeks and inside the pink box is the baby's tiny beating heart! It was an amazing sight to watch the little heart beat so fast!

We Put the Parents to Work Weekend!

Katie's parents came to visit and see the house, so . . . we put them to work! Friday evening was spent at Lowe's getting a game plan together for Saturday. Here are some of the things we accomplished (we finished a LOT of projects! Thanks Dad & Terri!!!) This is the new sink faucet, WAY better than the old one. Dad and John finished the plumbing under the sink Friday night!
We also did a little "exterior illumination". Old patio lights.
Deep in concentration.
John (jokingly) preparing to catch Dad after he'd been shocked from the electrical wires a few times!
Let's take a moment to enjoy the beauty and simplicity of our new patio lights . . . ok that's good. Onto Saturday's projects!
Saturday morning John & Dad put up the new front porch light.

Have you ever seen anyone more prepared for a "paint battle" than Terri? She was a painting machine! Terri and I taking all the doors off the kitchen cabinets, so that the boys can start painting them in the backyard. This is what happens when you put two guys in the backyard with a paint sprayer and lots of doors . . . they come up with the greatest contraptions to help them work!John-boy getting crazy with the paint sprayer. And yes, our lawn now looks like it snowed :)
Primer coat.Break time for the family and a photo opp! Don't we look gorgeous . . . I think this could be our next family portrait! :)The FINAL product without doors. Isn't it beautiful!!!!The ceremonial "First Door Hanging"! It was a moment.Dad, "Vannaing" the next door to be hung.
Finishing the doors.BEFORE . . .
AFTER!!!!! What an amazing difference!BEFORE . . .AFTER!!!BEFORE . . .AFTER!!BEAUTIFUL!!
Here we are in our NEW kitchen! Thanks for everything Dad & Terri! It was great FUN! :)
